To my understanding you want it to be a mix between Old Warfare (maybe WW1 or WW2) along with Futuristic as in(Unreal Tournament or Battlefield 2142). If this is correct then I suggest a few things. First off have a easy but not cramped UI. Try to have it as simple as possible. Second maybe have a feature no other game has. Maybe special abilities for each character type.
