Well I see you all are planning on producing a pretty decent FPS game. To my understanding you want it to be a mix between Old Warfare (maybe WW1 or WW2) along with Futuristic as in(Unreal Tournament or Battlefield 2142).

If this is correct then I suggest a few things. First off have a easy but not cramped UI. Try to have it as simple as possible. Second maybe have a feature no other game has. Maybe special abilities for each character type. Not to extravagant abilities but ones that make it unique. For example I will use counter-strike models. You could take Terrorist and make each different model have a different ability. The Urban Warfare guy could have maybe faster sprint but less accuracy while the Sniper could have more accuracy but less endurance running.

Along with that, maybe you could make aircraft a possibility. Not too detailed to where it's hard to control but detailed enough to where it is believable.

I could start thinking of more stuff but I would like to know what you all think first.

Awsome ideas, I don't think a great idea to use Counter-Strike Models tho. If we would put aircraft or tanks anything else... It would probably be a Modern Warfare. But to be original probably a Future Warfare would more interesting. Because maybe like Halo or along that line or TF2, FF (Fortress Forever -HL2MOD-). Thanks what I think.

Ohh, sorry I din't know, what about the different ability and the details. It would be really cool, but what do you mean about the details like the graphics or something else. Because one thing I wanted to do with this mod is to have better graphics then HL2 & CS:S.

Well I don't think you should take models from any games or they may freak and shut you down, if you so choose to take models from other games, ask the developers first, and that's only IF you could find a way to decompile the models from their original format and recompile them to your own.

True but to get the MOD set up files to make your own you need to decompile the files and I'm getting VS soon the big package. So don't worry about it. All the things we do like making our own music or models sound we need to do it by our self no copying of any sort. Because this will cause us very bad "damage" to our Team.

Because right now, my plan is to get VS then try a couple of tutorials from the official Valve Comunity MOD website and after that get a Story started for our game, then we can start by making the gameplay and so on.

You'll find that you'll need more than the valve tutorials to get started as they aren't very in-depth. Or that could just be me.

I never made a MOD just to tell you but I want to learn more about moding but for now I'll just use what they have and move along that.

OK sounds good, I've worked on multiple mods and learning as you go is a good way to start off.

Most of the things I've learn like HTML, PHP, XHTML, JS, and others its by learning by my self.

*gasp* wow that's a lot! I started learning HTML by myself but only got as far as linking pictures :p I can make a basic site but that's it :p

I've made alot of projects, in a few years. The first server I made was WoW private server. Then I went further into WoW configs. Like making items, adding stuff on the server. Then the other thing I did is making a Web Host. That's what I'm currently doing for our HL2 MOD.

Wow I would never have the patience to learn multiple languages.
